In my teens and early twenties I never wasted a thought on joint pain. As a healthy, active person I assumed it would never become an issue. Aging didn’t apply to me. Now, just standing too quickly can be a reminder that my body is changing as I age.

For me, understanding how my joints actually work and why joint pain occurs was a major first step in managing my pain. There’s a lot to keep track of; your body is made up of 203 joints which span between two or more bones. That’s a lot of moving parts that are aging and changing at different rates.
